Some of the top bosses at the state-run Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) TV have quit the station.
Denis Mbidde (Marketing Manager) and Grace Isabirye (Finance Manager), threw in the towel and quit the station.
Acting UBC TV board chair Simon Kaheru, when contacted, said he had heard about the development but referred us to the Managing Director for a clarification.
“I have heard about this as well, but perhaps you should reach the MD for an official comment,” Kaheru said.
He added: “We are undergoing a restructuring process, so there is bound to be a lot of sensationalism and anxiety.”
We further talked to Winston Agaba, the Managing Director, Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), who confirmed the report.
“Yes it’s true that Mr. Denis Mbidde and Mr. Grace Isabirye did tender in their resignation letters,” Agaba told Insider in an email.
“We are following the due process of our Human Resources Manual to process their exit.”
He said both gentlemen did leave at their own free will.
“…and as a corporation we do wish them all the best.”
