Mary Kisekka, the wife of former Ugandan Vice President, Dr Samson Kisekka, has died.
President Yoweri Museveni’s deputy Press Secretary, Lindah Nabusayi Wamboka, announced the late on her social media.
Government spokesperson, Ofwono Opondo, later confirmed the passing of Mary Saturday in a message posted on Uganda Media Centre Facebook page.
May passed on this morning at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala.
Mary has been living in Wakiso district since the death of her husband on October 25, 1999.
Her husband, Dr Kisekka, was a Prime Minister of Uganda from 1986 to 1991 and Vice President of Uganda from 1991 to 1994.
He also worked as a medical doctor and diplomat.
State House said in a statement that learnt with sadness the death of Maama Mary Nanfunka Kisekka, 92.
“There will be a requiem Mass on Tuesday 19th, 2015 at the Adventist Church on Entebbe Road,” the statement read.
Burial will take place on Wednesday 20th, 2015 at 2pm in Temangalo.
Maama Kisekka was born on October 2nd, 1923.
She died May 16th, 2015.
