Former police spokesperson, Simeo Nsubuga, defeated State Minister for ICT, Nyombi Thembo, in Kassanda South in Mubende district NRM primaries.
In a short message after losing last night, Nyombi accepted defeat graciously and wished Simeo all the best.
“I have lost and completely accept defeat and wish my bro [sic] Simeo Nsubuga success come February,” Nyombi said.
He added: “It’s people who decide – we campaign and they decide. I will support Simeo Nsubuga.”
Simeo’s former colleague in the armed forces, Judith Nabakooba, also picked herself a win in Mityana Woman MP race.
In Chekwi constituency Nakapiripirit, Hon. Lokeris Simon gathered 11,402 votes to beat his rival Moses who picked 9,072 votes.
Angella Fred also managed 2,140 votes against incumbent, Mr. Aleper Simon Peter’S 1,805 VOTES in Moroto Municipality.
In Buzaaya constituency, Isaac Musumba got 18,614 votes defeating Muzaale Martin with 16,501 votes.
In Lwemiyaga, MP Theodore Ssekikubo has again trounced arch-rival Patrick Nkalubo.
Theodore Ssekikubo got 110,360 votes, Patrick Nkalubo 8,791 votes, Andrew Nankunda 1,306 votes, Patrick Ssabiti 240 votes and Deo Musoke 49 votes.
In Bukedea district, the incumbent MP for Bukedea County, George Stephen Ekuma, lost to his closest challenger John Bosco Ikojo.
Ikojo garnered 18,453 votes while Ekuma polled 8,568 votes.
In the incumbent woman MP for Bukedea, Rose Akol Okullu beat her opponents Judith Ajalo and Ketty Akello.
