Tororo North County legislator, Geoffrey Ekanya, has asked the Electoral Commission (EC) to cancel the results from his constituency.
Ekanya lost the parliamentary election to Annette Nyaketcho who garnered 8,911 votes against his 8,822 votes.
Ekanya now claims the returning officer cancelled results from two polling stations thereby handing over his opponent victory.
The two polling stations were the Mission of church polling station and Kamuli Pagoya polling all station in Mukuju Sub County, Ekanya’s stronghold.
The two polling stations have a total of 1520 registered voters, 800 and 720 for Mission of church polling station and Kamuli Pagoya polling all station, respectively.
Tororo EC returning officer Fredrick Muwaya says the results from the two polling stations were cancelled after it was proved that the complainant Ekanya reportedly escorted the results to the tallying centre and that the ballot boxes had broken seals.
