One again, bullets and teargas welcomed the former President of FDC, Rtd.Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye, to Kabale town as was the case in Mbarara town.
Police deployed at Kabale playgrounds and in town where Besigye held a massive rally.
Speaking at the rally, Besigye said he will use diplomatic means to take over power in Uganda.
Besigye is campaigning for the FDC flag bearer position in the 2016 presidential elections.
While meeting the FDC delegates and general public at Hilltop hotel and Kabale main stadium respectively, Besigye said Ugandans had lost trust in the current electoral commission and thus wish to see electoral reforms adopted.
He asked the youth to fight bravely for the restoration of their rights since they are the future nation beneficiaries.
“You are the future of this lovely nation. Its development or collapse will greatly affect you so jealously fight for your rights,” he said.
Besigye Further condemned the current leadership for the escalating levels of unemployment.
“The rate of Unemployment is alarming and this government seems unbothered. It is high time we decided to save our nation.”
Speaking at the same platform, the Tororo county MP Geoffrey Ekanya said Besigye is still a strong candidate who can win the party elections and presidential elections if they were free and fair.
“I am sure Besigye is a strong candidate. I have friends and family members in the army, police and civil service who support him.”
Like the tradition had been in various areas where Besigye was visiting, people collected funds to support his political ambitions.
The Rukungiri municipality MP, Roland Kaginda used the platform to attack RDCs who are fighting Besigye’s campaigns.
“Those are idlers who lack what to do. If you ever come across them refer to them as idlers. How do you fight your boss?” asked Kaginda.
