Cranes grabs point against 10-man Burkina Faso

Uganda Cranes and Burkina Faso played to a goal-less draw at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Tuesday night.

This was the second of the double header fixture following the first match played in Ouagadougou.

Before the match, there was a special moment reserved for the departed former Uganda Cranes’ player, Abel Dhaira.

The Cranes created a series of chances in either halves with Tonny Mawejje hitting the cross bar in the first 16 minutes of the game.

Massa, Miya and second half substitute, Moses Oloya also came close to scoring in the latter half.

Burkina Faso captain, Charles Kabore was red carded for a second bookable offence.

Both Uganda and Burkina Faso have now accumulated 7 points in group D.

There is no hope lost with two remaining games. Uganda travels to Botswana in June before the final game against Comoros in August 2016.
