High Court has dismissed a case filed by Lwengo District Woman MP Gertrude Nakabira challenging the academic papers of Bukoto South MP-elect Hajj Muhammad Muyanja Mbabaali.

Nakabira, who stood against Mbabaali in the February 18 parliamentary elections and lost,  went to court in November last year challenging his nomination, on grounds that Mbabaali lacked the required academic qualifications for the post

In his ruling, Justice John Eudes Keitirima  of Masaka said High Court said the case had been overtaken by events since Mbabaali had been nominated and elected as  a member of parliament for Bukoto South constituency.

Mbabali had testified before court that he sat his Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams from Nsambya Sharing Hall Centre in Kampala, which he passed in 2013 and later enrolled on mature age entry at Makerere University  in addition to a Diploma in Information Technology he had  already got from Uganda Pentecostal University.
