The hearing of a bail application filed by opposition leader Kizza Besigye has been set for July 6.
Besigye wrote to the court seeking to be released from Luzira prisons where he is imprisoned on treason charges.
He applied for bail on grounds of ill health, which requires a specific diet.
He also alluded to his advanced age  years and promised not to interfere with the investigations into his case.
Prosecution asked Nakawa Chief Magistrate James Ereemye Mawanda that they needed more time to investigate and get more evidence to pin the retired colonel.
The magistrate adjourned the case to June 29, 2016.
Eremye also informed Besigye that he had received instructions to forward the treason case file to High Court for bail consideration.
Besigye also said in his application to High Court that bail is his constitutional right.
High Court Judge Wilson Masalu Musene has been named as the Judge to handle the matter.
