Court rules on Mbabazi election petition

Nine Justices presiding over an election petition filed by Amama Mbabazi have arrived at Supreme Court in Kololo to give their ruling.

The former Prime Minister petitioned court a month ago challenging the election results that declared President Yoweri Museveni as winner of the February 2016 polls.

Among those sued are the electoral commission, president Museveni and the Attorney General.

Mbabazi claims that his votes in over 45 districts were given to the president.

He also cites cases of intimidation, voter bribery and vote rigging that cost him the election.

Nine judges of the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice Bart Katureebe will deliver their judgement today.
