Kitgum Magistrate’s Court on Monday issued a warrant for the arrest of Aruu South County MP Odonga Otto.
The same court presided over by Kitgum Grade One Magistrate Isaac Rukundo also issued a warrant of arrest for former Aruu North County MP contestant Lucy Achiro.
Otto and Achiro are accused of threatening and inciting violence, obstructing electoral officers and destruction of electoral materials.
Prosecution alleges that on February 29, Otto together with Achiro, led a mob that stormed Pader Central Police station, destroying four ballot boxes and electoral material.
They were attempting to stop a vote recount after James Nabinson Kidega had challenged the declaration of Achiro as the Aruu North County winner.
Otto and Achiro were absent in the Monday trial prompting the magistrate to order their arrest for contempt of court.
