Three police officers have been arrested for killing son to the newly elected Kapchorwa Municipality Member of Parliament Sam Mangusho Cheptoris.

It’s alleged that the officers identified as Medard Kabwolo, the Officer in Charge of Sipi Police post, Musa Mwanga and Daniel Chepkuri all attached to Sipi police outpost in Kapchorwa district shot and killed Richard Semu, a suspect in the case of assault and malicious damage ironically filed against him by his parents.

According to Kapchorwa District Police Commander Jaspher Ekak, the officers had gone to arrest Semu who tried to resist arrest.

“They reportedly found him drinking waragi near their home at Kamusha village in Gamatui Sub County and when he tried to resist, they shot him,” he said.

But the DPC explained that police has launched its investigations into the case to establish the real cause of the shooting that resulted into the MP’s son’s death.
