Congo musician Koffi Olomide has been arrested.
The 60-year-old was picked from his home in the capital Kinshasa for brutally kicking one of his dancers while in Kenya.
“May the righteousness of man be just and fair,” Olomide, one of Africa’s most celebrated musicians, updated in his Facebook page moments after his arrest in Congo.
The BBC has reported that reasons for his arrest are still unclear. He was arrested on orders of the Attorney-General.
After deportation from Kenya, this artistes was received home amidst cheers and booing.
His show in Zambia was cancelled over the same saga.
Koffi has been party in so many incidents of this sort but he has been protected by his connections in the Kabila government.
Original names Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba, Koffi is a celebrated singer, dancer and producer with classic hits and a number of his albums listed in the international list of 1001 albums one must hear before they die.
