Interpol police and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) security forces are searching for two Ugandans abducted last week, on Friday, by suspected rebels.
The two, a businessman only identified as Muhammad and his driver Identified as Hajji Mpata were transporting goods to Goma from Uganda aboard a fuso truck registration number UAS 968Y.
According to Deputy Police Spokesperson Polly Namaye, Police is following leads into the possibility that the Mai Mai rebels located in DR Congo could have been behind the abduction that took place at Buganza, 15Km along Ishasha goma in DR Congo.
The fuso truck containing goods was recovered on the road side.
Namaye says Police has ruled out robbery as being the intention of the abductors give that nothing was taken from the vehicle.
