The long awaited Comoros team arrived at Entebbe airport aboard the Emirates Airlines on Thursday 1st September at around 02:00pm a head of the Sunday match.
“We know Uganda needs this game but we are professionals and shall put up a brave show,” said Comoros team Captain Nadjim “Jimmy” Abdou.
They were welcomed by FUFA head of Protocol official Boniface Oryema, Emmanuel Sekago (security) and the lanky former Uganda Cranes international defender, Lawrence Kizito and later, driven to Imperial Royal Hotel in Kampala.
Though Uganda Cranes won the first leg over Comoros in Moroni courtesy of Tonny Mawejje’s strike in a well contested encounter last year, victory against Comoros this time on 4th September 2016 is as useful as the last matchbox stick in darkness to see a jinx that has existed since 1978 in Ghana.
