A road accident has cost the life of a ruling party aspirant in Kiruhura district.
The deceased, Micheal Nyamuguri Kananura, was aspiring for the Nyabushozi Constituency in Kiruhura District.
Nyamuguri died Saturday evening after his vehicle hit a speeding bus belonging to Global Coaches at Kanyaryeru where he was holding a rally.
His body is now lie in Mbarara hospital mortuary.
One of his friends told us some of the people who were in the car with Nyamuguri sustained serious injuries.
One of them identified as Alan got a dislocated shoulder.
The injured are now admitted at Mbarara referral hospital.
“When the car hit the bus, it swerved off the road and hit a pedestrian who died on spot,” Nyamuguri’s friend said on phone.
He said burial arrangements were underway.
Nyamuguri was standing against Rtd Col. Fred Mwesigye.
His supporters say Nyamuguri was strong enough to unseat Mwesigye.
