Entebbe Grade One Magistrate Beatrice Kayinza has sent a city developer to Luzira prison on remand for erecting an illegal building.

John Bosco Nyanzi erected Paradiso Inn located in Masanafu in Rubaga Division without approvals from KCCA.

He appeared before Her Worship Beatrice Kayinza to answer charges of carrying out construction without all the necessary approvals from KCCA Physical Planning Directorate.

The magistrate opted to remand him as a warning to those who construct illegal structures, some of which result into fatal accidents.

Such a building is Kyaseka Towers along Makerere Hill Road which recently collapsed killing four people and injuring five others.

The building was one of those earmarked for demolition because they are found in the road reserve, Engineer Andrew Kitaka, according to the Director of Engineering, the Kampala Capital City Authority.

In 2012 and 2015, two buildings under construction collapsed in Kansanga and Lugogo respectively.
