Court has Friday sentenced former Uganda Cranes, SC Villa and Bunamwaya (now Vipers) manager, Chris Mubiru, to 10 years imprisonment.
Mubiru was also ordered by Buganda Road court magistrate, Flavia Nabakooza, to pay Shs 50m to the teenager he sodomised.
Early this month, mubiru was found guilty of engaging in sodomy acts basing on the kits that the investigating Police officer picked from Mubiru’s house.
Court found him guilty of having carnal knowledge against the order of nature.
Mubiru had earlier been convicted of sodomising Emmanuel Nyanzi.
The prosecution had stated that in December 2009 in Kisingiri Zone, Mengo in Kampala, Mubiru had sexual intercourse with a male person against the order of nature contrary to Section 145(a) of the Penal Code Act.
While reading his sentence, the magistrate advised Mubiru to appeal if he is not dissatisfied.
Mubiru’s lawyers led by Isaac Ssemakkade expressed their dissatisfaction and said they will appeal the sentence in a higher court.
