Chained ‘Free My Vote’ protesters arrested

Police in Kampala has arrested six activists who were protesting Kizza Besigye’s continued house arrest.

The FDC supporters Thursday morning chained themselves on poles around Kampala city demanding that government releases their “president” from home detention.

The supporters dressed in white T-shirts and carrying placards were found chained on poles at Clock Tower, William Street and Yamaha centre in downtown Kampala.

Security forces deployed heavily in the city centre while others patrolled the volatile Kisekka market area.

Police unchained, arrested and whisked them away to cells.
