Ugandan body builder, Ivan Byekwaso, on Saturday won the Natural Bodybuilding World Cup.
The INBA Mr. Universe and Mr. AM World Cup is now set to go professional, according to his Pemba Sports Africa sponsors.
“Next year I will be ready to compete as a pro at the Mr. Universe, the World Cup; and if I win the Natural Olympia the same will happen,” Byekwaso, who also won the Most Mascular prize said on Sunday.
“Coach Gaspar Lorenzo and the INBA world president advised me to compete in the amateurs until next year because the guys competing in the Professional Natural Bodybuilding Association (PNBA) are more experienced and have been competing for over 10-15 years; but next year no more amateurs.”
The Mr. Uganda champion will also take part in the Las Vegas Natural Olympia scheduled for November 12-15.
Pemba Sports Africa chairman, Jackson Pemba, says Byekwaso’s achievements will also benefit the country in terms of publicity worldwide.
