Busoga youth call for calm as Kadaga, Oulanya feud deepens over speaker job

A group of National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaning youth from 10 districts of Busoga have called for calm and asked their leaders to act responsible as speaker Rebecca Kadaga and her deputy Jacob Oulanya contest over speaker job deepens.

This comes at the backdrop of a series of virulent attacks made by the State Minister for Works, Mr Asuman Kiyingi, on Kadaga, whom he accused of having been the architect of his defeat in the Feb 18 parliamentary elections.

In a veiled reference to the speakership job, James Mukembo, the Busoga Youth Group NRM P Squad leader, said some politicians from Busoga have been using social media to launch personal attacks against their opponents and creating imaginary enemies by recycling rumours and fabricating propaganda.

Minister Kiyingi has for the last 6 years or so been telling whoever cares to listen and of late read his posts in social media, particularly on his Facebook wall, that Ms Kadaga is fighting him.
