Former Vice President, Gilbert Bukenya, once more skipped court Tuesday for the case in which he is accused of snatching another man’s wife.
Bukenya missed the last sitting in April 2015 but was represented by lawyers.
The hearing did not take effect Margret Kabasinguza, the woman Bukenya allegedly snatched from Emmanuel Nyabayango, too failed to show up.
She was also represented by her lawyer, Ambrose Rukundo.
Justice Percy Tuhaise who presided over the case at the High Court Family division issued a mediation notice for settlement of the grievances under the guidance of a Court registrar or mediator.
Tuhaise also set July 14, 2015 as the date for hearing incase mediation failed.
Yet on Tuesday (July 14), Yet on Tuesday (July 14), Bukenya avoided court by all means without any clear reasons.
He has also done his best to avoid mediation which would require him meeting the woman’s husband eye to eye.
Justice Tuhaise ordered mediation registrar, Magan Callauay, to file a mediation report so that hearing can resume.
As the court proceedings were ongoing, Bukenya and Kabasinguza were spotted at Katoomi Kingdom Hotel enjoying themselves.
Nyabayango through his lawyer filed the case against Bukenya in July 2012 accusing him of seducing his wife.
He also claims that Bukenya has a child with his wife, saying it was “unconstitutional and barbaric”.
Justice Tuhaise adjourned the case to December 15, 2015 ordering lawyers to this time round come with their clients, without fail.
