Nakawa Division MP Michael Kabaziguruka could not hide his joy after the High Court in Kampala on Thursday ordered for his released.
Kabaziguruka has been on remand in Kigo prison after he was charged with treachery before the military court in Kampala.
The charges were in connection to allegations that him and a group of 50 other people tried to overthrow ptresiden Yoweri Museveni’s government with the use of fire arm.
After several months of frustration, Kabaziguruka coul afford a smile when Justice Yasin Nyanzi said he should be released on a cash bail of Sh5 millions.
Before releasing him, Judge Nyanzi said the four sureties that the MP had presented were substantial.
The sureties included the Forum for Democratic Change president Gen Mugisha Muntu, Rubaga North Member of Parliament Moses Kasibante, Kira municipality Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda
The judge also ordered MP Kabaziguruka not to leave the country and that if he’s to do so, he should report to High Court registrar for clearance.
As part of his bail requirements, Kabaziguruka will be reporting to the High Court Registrat Eleanor Mary Khainza.
