Ghetto president, H.E Bobi Wine’s brother, Eddy Yawe, is seeking for presidency in Democratic Party at its delegates’ conference.
Yawe, a music producer and musician, is vying for the position of DP Vice President Central Region.
In 2011, Yawe contested for Kampala Central Member of Parliament seat on the Democratic Party ticket but lost to NRM’s Muhammad Nsereko.
This time round, he is ready to take on Kyaddondo East MP, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda in 2016 general elections.
Yawe told The Observer in 2010 that his father and grandfather were also DP members.
He campaigned for former DP President Kawanga Ssemogerere’s run for President in 1996 when Yawe was in his first year at Makerere University.
He composed for Ssemogerere the song Olubengo.
He also successfully campaigned for Lukwago in 2006.
Yawe has a Masters degree in radio and television from a university in the Netherlands, he achieved in 2000 and owns Dream Studios based in Kamwokya.
He also received a scholarship to Morgan State University in the USA, where he studied the intricacies of sound on sound recording.
Others vying for DP positions are; Dr Hasib Kabuye Takuba for National Deputy Treasurer and Alitia Elia for Vice President Northern Region, among others.
DP delegates conference underway
Meanwhile, former DP leaders, Hon Paul Kawanga Ssemwogerere, Hon Ssebana Kizito etc, are expected at Katomi Kingdom Hotel along Entebbe road for a delegates conference.
At least 1700 delegates from across the country are expected here for conference that ends on Sunday July 26th.
The delegates, majority coming from Lango sub region began arriving in hordes on Wednesday night.
The conference is expected to amend the Democratic Party constitution and elect office bearers from the grass root to the top office during the three day meeting.
