Local artiste, Robert Kyagulanyi popularly known as Bobi Wine on Monday appeared in High Court over Former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Kizza Besigye’s case.
The self-proclaimed Ghetto president was in court to witness hearing of Besigye’s bail application.
Bobi Wine has on several occasions seen with Col. Besigye, a four time challenger of President Museveni in the elections.
Clad in a black suit and a white Shirt, Bobi Wine was seen surrounded by members of his crew in court during court proceedings.
On several occasions however, the Situka singer has denied being partisan or harbouring intentions to contest for any elective position.
After hearing submissions from both the state and Besigye’s lawyers, justice Wilson Masalu Musene said he would make his ruling tomorrow on whether to release Besigye on bail or not.
This bail application arose on June 7 when Dr Besigye through the prison authorities, applied to be released on bail pending the hearing of the treason case whose date has not yet been fixed.
The hearing of Dr Besigye’s bail application was conducted under tight security manned by Aaron Baguma, the CPS commander.
The sureties included; FDC party president Mugisha Muntu, General Secretary of FDC party, Mr Nathan Nandala Mafabi, Rukungiri Municipality MP Roland Mugume and Rubaga Division mayor, Joyce Ssebugwawo.
