A convoy of FDC politicians has crashed in Masaka enroute Rukungiri town.
Hon Harold Kaija, who was travelling in the convoy, says police wanted “to kill” them in Nkoni Masaka.
According to Kaija, the DPC a one Ogwal ordered his men to throw “metallic thorns” in the road after Hon. Wafula Oguttu’s car had passed.
The other cars which were following Oguttu, crashed in an accident as a result of police action.
“Many cars have been damaged including those Dr. Kizza-Besigye Wrn, Hon. Ibrahim Nganda Ssemujju, Hon. Ekanya Geoffrey, Hon. Amuriat, Fred Turya, the NTV car and other three from other road users.”
Kaija added: “We are not threatened by their actions of the regime.
We shall keep going.”
This is not the first time FDC is blaming police of trying to kill Besigye.
Kaija said no one was drunk as to cause the accident but police barricades are to blame for the fatal incident.
While campaigning for flag bearer in August, Besigye’s car tyre burnt on the road to Hoima.
He said the same car had been kept at police for some time and had just been released to him.
He also claimed seeing a policeman spray the tyre with some chemicals before picking the car from Central Police Station.
Meanwhile in Rukungiri where Besigye is expected to start his maiden rally today, Saturday, police is reportedly arresting many youth who are preparing the town to host the FDC entourage.
Sources tells us vehicles and motor cycles have been confiscated to curtail Besigye’s rally.
