FDC presidential flag bearer has spoken out on an alleged second attempt by police to “kill him”.
On Saturday morning, a convoy of FDC politicians got involved in an accident on Mbarara-Masaka highway.
The team was travelling to Rukungiri district where Besigye has a rally today.
According to Hon Harold Kaija, the police blocked them abruptly at Nkoni in Masaka district.
Police threw barricades in the road just after the car of the Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Hon. Wafula Oguttu, had passed.
Many cars including those Dr. Kizza-Besigye Wrn, Hon. Ibrahim Nganda Ssemujju, Hon. Ekanya Geoffrey, Hon. Amuriat, Fred Turya, NTV car and other three from other road users, were damaged in the ensuing crash.
Speaking on the incident, Besigye said: “Our convoy has been ambushed by police!”
He said tyre cutters were thrown suddenly on the road, destroying Hon Ekanya’s car and causing multiple car crashes.
“A vehicle of NTV that was in the convoy was badly damaged,” Besigye narrates.

“The police officer in charge of this criminal activity is said to be the Regional Police Commander of Masaka SP Ogwal,” Besigye observed.
