Besigye shakes Masaka, receives a hero’s welcome

Former Presidential aspirant Dr. Kizza Besigye has on Friday received a hero’s welcome in Masaka town .
Besigye who is in Masaka for the FDC party’s regional retreat was received by thousands of his supporters who even offered him gifts and money.

Among the crowds was Mauria Pola Nalwonga, 88yrs who put a rosary around Besigye’s neck.
Maura insisted Besigye won elections and he must reclaim his authority from Mr. Museveni who grabbed it so he can implement his manifesto.

Besigye however also said he is in the war to regain his position as the president of Uganda and called upon the residents to join him in the struggle since he can’t fight the war alone.

“I know the journey is thorny but its not reason enough to stop us from demanding for our rights, they can break my body but my spirit will keep on fighting until we all free from the hands of the dictator. Stay firm we shall overcome this.” said Besigye.

The Regional Workshop in Masaka has beeen for leaders from 10 Districts; Masaka, Rakai, Kalungu, Lwengo, Lyantonde, Bukomansimbi, Ssembabule, Kalangala, Gomba, Mpigi and Butambala.

Among other people who were present include Party President Gen. Mugisha Muntu, Prime Minister. Proscovia Salaamu-Musumba, Finance Minister Nathan Nandala-Mafabi, Spokesperson Ibrahim Nganda Ssemujju, Ingrid Turinawe, Rajab Kaaya Sema, Mulindwa Walid Lubega, Idi Ouma, Owek Joyce Nabbosa Ssebuggwawo, Owek. Bwanika Bbale, Wilberforce Kyambadde, Margaret Wokuri Madanda, Ssegirya Muhammed. And many other Activists.
