Opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye has postponed his return from the diaspora where he has been for more than two months.
The former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Dr Besigye had been scheduled to return on September 29.
However, the former leader of opposition Wafula Oguttu said there has been adjustments about the return date of the four time challenger of president Yoweri Museveni.
“HE returns on Oct 03, 2016,” he said.
According to him, Dr Besigye requested for more time to accomplish international engagements with various stakeholders.
Apparently, there is renewed enthusiasm in the international community about need for realistic political change in Uganda.
“If he will not have finished his foreign engagements by October 3, he will still come to Uganda and go back after,” added Oguttu.
The announcement comes just hours after police asked to meer the FDC leaders over Besigye’s return.
Police spokesperson had advised that Besigye’s heroic return should be organised in line with the Public Order Management Act.
