The body of the late Wilfred Mulumba has been taken to A-Plus Funeral home for proper dressing.
Mulumba, a counsel for FDC’s Kizza Besigye, died this afternoon at Kampala hospital.
Counsel Mulumba was representing Besigye, Hon Erias Lukwago, Mayor Munyagwa Mubarak and Ingrid Turinawe among others, who were charged with unlawful assembly at Kabale Magistrates Court.
A vigil will be held for him at Bwebajja along Entebbe road.
Tomorrow at 9am, his body will be taken to Christ the King Church Kampala for mass and later be transported to Kabale.
In Kabale, on Thursday morning, mass will be held at Christ the King and later be transferred to his home in Rubanda for burial.
Earlier in the day, various leaders flocked to Kampala hospital after the news of his death became public.
Those who came to show solidarity with the family included; former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi, Dr Kizza Besigye and FDC President, Gen Mugisha Muntu.
Labeling Mulumba’s death as suspicious, Besigye called for thorough investigations into the lawyer’s demise.
Democratic Party Vice President Western, Imam Makumbi, and Kawempe Mayor, Mubarak Munyagwa, were at the hospital as well.
At exactly 12:10pm, lawyer Murumba breathed his last at Kampala Hospital in Kololo.
“We watched him fight his last battle,” relatives recount amidst tears and great sorrow.
Ingrid Turinawe, Hon. Kaginda the chairman FDC Kabale and Dr. Olive Kobusingye, Besigye sister were finalizing a process to fly him out for better treatment.
Mulumba was due to be flown out this evening to Nairobi Hospital.
He was is remembered to have moved across the country during Walk-to-Work riots defending activists.
He is suspected to have been poisoned last week after attending a court session.
Mulumba, at the time of his death, was eying a slot in Uganda High Court, a dream he shared with the assassinated prosecutor, Joan Kagezi.
He was also planning to run for Member of Parliament, Kabale Municipality.
