The Kabale Chief Magistrate has issued criminal summons for 4GC activists.

They are Erias Lukwago, the embattled Kampala City Lord Mayor, former Forum for Democratic Change President Dr. Col. Kizza Besigye, Ingrid Turinawe the FDC Women League Chairperson and Rukungiri Municipality MP Roland Kaginda.

Godfrey Kawesa, the Kabale chief Magistrate issued the summons yesterday morning following the failure by the suspects to show up in court for three consecutive sessions to answer charges of inciting violence during their rally in Kabale Municipality stadium in 2012.

Four police officers were injured in the resultant clash and three police vehicles registration numbers UP 1325, UP 3226 and UP 1923 vandalized by angry residents.

According to Kaweesa, the suspects must appear in court on May 17th or else he will remain with no option to issue warrants for their arrest.

He accuses the politicians of playing games with court saying this can’t be tolerated.

However, Roland Kaginda, the Rukungiri Municipality MP told Uganda Radio Network on phone that they didn’t skip the court session deliberately but they were still hunting for a lawyer to replace Wilfred Murumba of Murumba and Mastiko advocates who died weeks back.

Murumba died at Kampala Hospital on April 09th due to organ failure.
