Former FDC presidential candidate Kizza Besigye Friday took part in the burial of former Makindye Court Chief Magistrate Richard Mafabi in Sironko district.
Police which has been guarding his house only learnt too late that instead of Kasangati, Besigye was actually in Bukayengare village, Buteza Sub-county, Sironko District where Mafabi was today laid to rest.
Addressing press yesterday, Besigye told police to leave his home and emphasised that even if they stayed, they would never stop him from going wherever he wants.
As it happened this morning, Besigye escaped his barricaded home through a make-shift gate which police has since treated as a crime scene.
Mafabi was the magistrate who issued criminal summons to Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura and other senior police officers for beating Besigye’s supporters.
Ever since his return from abroad, police has been monitoring Besigye’s movements as well as blocking him from leaving his house.
This morning, they barricaded his home as well as that of Kira Municipality MP Ssemujju Nganda located in Bweyogerere outside Kampala.
Besigye is famous for evading police surveillance and showing up in places where the law would not want him to be.
He last fooled police in May this year when he showed up in Kampala city and took oath as the people’s president.
