Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] presidential flag bearer, Kizza Besigye, is already in a procession to Namboole stadium for nomination as a presidential candidate.
The FDC leader has already left Najjanankumbi party headquarters escorted by top party leaders including the Secretary General, Nandala Mafabi and Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Wafula Oguttu.
Besigye will be nominated by the electoral commission at 11am today to stand for the fourth time against President Yoweri Museveni in the 2016 general elections.
Besigye stood against Museveni in 2001, 2006 and 2011 elections losing three times to the incumbent.
After today’s nomination, Besigye will head to Nakivubo stadium in Kampala where he will address a public rally.
Earlier, police issued guidelines directing Besigye’s convoy out of Kampala city centre.
Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, said Besigye would leave his home at Kasangati to the FDC party offices at Najjanankumbi via Mulago roundabout-Yusuf Lule.
He would then take Road-Punjani traffic lights junction-Mukwano Road and Clock Tower.
He would thereafter, proceed to the nomination venue at Mandela National Stadium via Clock Tower-Mukwano Road-Punjani traffic lights junction-Jinja Road-Nakawa-Spear Motors junction.
After his nomination, Besigye will proceed to Nakivubo Stadium via Spear Motors junction-Nakawa-Jinja Road-Punjani traffic lights junction-Mukwano Road-Clock Tower-St. Balikuddembe.
Police warned him against entering the heart of the city where he may cause violence.
