Uganda prisons on Wednesday produced opposition leader Kizza Besigye in court to face treason charges.
Besigye arrived at Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court in a Luzira prisons bus at 9am.
Heavily guarded, he was escorted inside the court by prison wardens.
Police had deployed heavily in Nakawa to secure the court premises and the road leading to the court.
Opposition members claim they were blocked from attending the court session.
Besigye was supposed to appear in the same court on June 1 but was never produced for security reasons.
The director of public prosecutions Mike Chibita asked that Besigye be tried from Luzira.
Court adjourned to today 15th June, 2016.
Besigye later wrote to Chief Justice Bart Katureebe demanding fairness and justice.
