Besigye gives Museveni 10 days ultimatum to open Makerere

Former presidential candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye has given government 10 days ultimatum to open Makerere University.

Speaking to journalists at his home in Kasangati, Besigye further vowed to organise a national wide demonstration government fails to comply with the ultimatum.

He however also called upon parliament to push for the payment of lecturers since the university affects several departments including health.

Makerere university was closed following a directive from president Museveni early this month when lecturers went on strike demanding for their salary enhancements.
