Court at Buganda road has cancelled bail for FDC candidate, Kizza Besigye’s driver, Kato Fred, and detained him.
Kato was arrested and charged with reckless driving in May 2015.
Buganda Road Court Magistrate, Mary Kaitetsi, charged Kato for reckless driving while Besigye dodged police in downtown Kampala.
Besigye was violently arrested after announcing a campaign to fight for the implementation of the electoral reforms.
FDC secretary for mobilisation, Ingrid Turinawe secured a Shs400, 000 bail for Kato.
When he re-appeared in court on Friday, Kato’s bail was cancelled.
He was then sent to Luzira maximum prison till the next hearing.
FDC youth activist, Moses Byamugyisha, interpreted the move as a plot to “slow Besigye’s ability to penetrate the remaining villages”.
“We have plan B& C. We win by defiance,” the youth said.
