Opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye and his wife Winnie Byanyima missed Monday’s ceremony where Parliament was awarding Golden Jubilee medals to current and former legislators.
Both Besigye and Byanyima are former legislators and featured on the awardees list published by Parliament.
The FDC spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, said Besigye is out of the country until September 29 while Byanyima is in the United States of America.
However, FDC has released the official programme for the return of Besigye who has been out of the country for four weeks.
Addressing journalists at the party headquarters in Najjanakumbi, the former leader of opposition Wafula Oguttu said Besigye is expected to jet into the country on Thursday at 8.30am aboard a Kenya Airways flight.
He says several party officials and supporters will be at Entebbe International Airport to receive him.
According to the program released, Besigye will address journalists at Entebbe airport, move from Entebbe to the party headquarters in Najjanakumbi before proceeding to his home in Kasagati.
Oguttu further noted that FDC party wrote to the police on the September 23rd seeking for permission and also ensure smooth traffic flow but no response has been received.
