Former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) strongman Kizza Besigye was among those who gathered at Panamera bar in Naguru to wash cash in a fundraising drive to save Carol Atuhairwe.
On Saturday, Besigye took his car to be washed at a cost of Shs50,000.
Those with motorcycles parted with Shs20,000.
Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) paid Shs100,000 for the Caterpillar and Shs1,750,000 for 35 other cars, according to Daily Monitor.
Singer Bobi Wine and President of the People’s Development Party Dr Abed Bwanika also took part in the exercise.City tycoon SK Mbuga said he will pay for Carol’s air ticket to US.
He paid Shs 500,000 for cleaning his shoes at the car wash event.
Carol who suffers from two cancers needs money to go for treatment in the US.
The ‘Save Carol Campaign’ coordinated by Muhereza Kyamutetera has so far raised Shs117m.
