Uganda opposition leader Kizza Besigye has returned home from abroad.
Besigye arrived in the country early Saturday morning from a 12-day official working visit to Europe and the United States of America.
Dr. Besigye arrived at Entebbe International Airport aboard a Kenya Airways Flight.
According to FDC, Besigye’s recent official visit abroad is one of the routine visits he has made to engage with Ugandans in the diaspora and other stakeholders in the international system to discuss the human rights situation and unresolved governance issues in Uganda.
“Evidence shows that there is unanimity on the issue of respecting the wishes and aspirations of the people of Uganda to reclaim their country from those that captured it and determine how they should be governed,” the party said in a statement.
This time around, Besigye was not grabbed by police as it happened the last time he visited Europe and USA.
