Opposition leader Kizza Besigye Tuesday reported to High Court in fulfilment of the bail conditions set by Judge Wilson Masalu Musene upon his release on July 12.
Besigye who was recently released from Luzira prison on treason charges, will be reporting to the registrar of High Court- Criminal Division once every two weeks.
Escorted by his lawyers, Ernest Kalibala and Frederick Mpanga, Besigye went to court only to be told the registrar, Mary Khainza Eleanor, had gone to Entebbe to attend a conference.
He signed in a book with the guidance of one of the court clerks and was told to report back on August 9.
Besigye was yesterday arrested and detained at Jinja road police station shortly after Makindye Magistrates Court dismissed a case of disobeying lawful order against him and Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago.
He was detained up to 9:00pm alongside FDC officials Ingrid Turinawe, MP Hon Geoffrey Ekanya and former Leader of Opposition Wafula Oguttu as a security measure.
Besigye was then charged with disobeying lawful orders.
FDC said Besigye was arrested after police suspected his car to be in a Dangerous Mechanical Condition [DMC].
It was towed away, too.
While leaving court this morning, Besigye passed down town Kampala where his supporters cheered and chanted after him.
He was given money and fruits in downtown Kampala.
