Kaabong General Hospital in the North eastern Uganda has been left almost empty after patients fled the wards following what’s reported to be invasion of bedbugs.
Some patients have also opted to be treated from their homes other than being admitted to the health centre that has been invaded by the blood sucking insects.
Patients claim the situation gets worse each other day that passes with night hours being their peak time for breeding.
They claim the hospital management which is ideally supposed to uphold hygiene has on several occassions ignored their concerns.
Ironically, Meďi Paul the hospital administrator blamed patients for bringing the bedbugs to the health centre.
According to him, management has been fighting bedbugs by spraying but they keep on increasing.
