2016 presidential candidate Professor Venansius Baryamureeba says once he finally receives his invitation for President Yoweri Museveni’s swearing in ceremony, he will automatically attend.

The former vice chancellor of Makerere University says Supreme Court ruled and declared Museveni the unquestionable winner of 2016 elections.

“We have to respect the rule of law,” Barya said while appearing on NBS television Wednesday.

He said the FDC candidate Dr Kizza Besigye has support in town centers but President Museveni has his own in the villages.

Barya who was among the last in the race for 2016 presidency, also talked about a possibility of being offered a cabinet position in the new government.

“I’m not looking for a Cabinet position but if I am offered one, I will have to think about it before deciding,” he said.

Barya suggested that one of the main issues President Museveni ought to tackle in the new term is unemployment.

“President Museveni needs to focus on having people who can help him run this country. Currently, he has a tired Cabinet.”
