Edgar Davids arrives in town

Former Barcelona star, Edgar Davids, has arrived in the Ugandan capital Kampala.

With his signature shades, the dreadlocked legend set foot at Entebbe International airport on Tuesday afternoon aboard Emirates plane.

He arrives ahead of a contingent of former FC Barcelona players who will play against the Uganda Cranes All-stars team this Saturday.

The match is intended to raise funds towards the establishment of a state of art football academy in Uganda under the Rayco Garcia Foundation.

“I am happy to be in Uganda again. I am here to enjoy and entertain,” Davids told media at Entebbe VIP Arrival Lounge before heading to Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel.

Simao Sabrosa, Sergi Barjuan and coach Victor Munoz are also expected to arrive this Tuesday night.

Other players on the squad include; Deco, Patrick Kluivert, Luis Garcia, Albert Luque, Juliano Belleti, Francisco Coco, Ludovic Guily, Gianluca Zambrota and Gaizka Mendieta.

The Uganda Cranes to be captained by David Obua is coached by Mike Mutebi and Sam Ssimbwa.

Its squad includes; Edgar Watson, a former Captain at SC Villa and Uganda Cranes and now FUFA CEO, Hakim Magumba, Geoffrey Kizito, Musa Mudde, Vincent Kayizzi, Tonny Mawejje, Steven Bengo, Mike Sserumaga, Phillip Obwinyi, James Odoch, Ibrahim Buwembo, Abubaker Tabula, George Ssemwogerere, Geofrey Sserunkuma and Geoffrey Massa.
