According police, Sserunyigo has been claiming he is Jesus and whoever follows him will go to heaven since now is the end times.

His arrest comes just weeks after court acquitted a self-proclaimed ‘Jesus Christ’ who had been remanded over impersonation.

Solomon Semakula, the self styled Jesus Christ from Nakaseke district, also in central Uganda appeared before Kiwoko Grade I Magistrates court on August 10 and was acquitted of all the charges of belonging to an unlawful society contrary to section 56 1 and 2 a of the Penal code act and managing an unlawful society contrary to section 57 of the penal code act.

He accepted to denounce the title Jesus saying he had suffered enough but failed to deliver himself from bondage like the Biblical Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
