On Wednesday, a team of UPDF soldiers and Police was deployed in Apar village in Amuru Sub County to evict residents ahead of the exercise to demarcate the boundary between Amuru and Adjumani districts.

The disputed 40 square kilometer piece of land is home to about 1,500 people.

On Tuesday, residents decided to stage protests.

Armed with spears, bows and arrows, the residents chanted war songs and threatened to kill any Police or soldier who dare step on their land.

They also cut huge trees and blocked the road to prevent the Police truck from proceeding.

Wilson Kwanya, the Aswa Regional Police Commander as a result Police team, which wasn’t armed retreated to Amuru trading¬†center.

He warns to arrest residents should they continue to strip and charge them accordingly.

Kwanya has asked Gilbert Olanya, the Kilak county MP to plead with the community to allow their trucks to deliver food to Policemen in Apar adding that, his men are hungry because they have not eaten for some days.

This is not the first time the community in Amuru is undressing over land.

Odongo pleaded with the residents to stop the nude protests in vain.
