America pop goddess Madonna in Kenya


American pop goddess Madonna and La Isla Bonita hit singer is in Kenya visiting Africa’s biggest slum.

The 57-year-old singer, songwriter, dancer, actress and businesswoman has adopted two children (David Banda and Mercy James) from the south-eastern African country of Malawi.

Kenyan media reports that she is in the country to adopt a child.

She tweeted on arrival in Kenya, sharing pictures of Kibera slum and herself hugging a one Mama Sopfie.

“This Amazing Woman lives in a 10 by 10 dwelling in Kibera,” she wrote on the picture posted on Instagram.

The seven-time Grammy Award-winner, actress, pop culture icon, founder of Raising Malawi and a Goodwill Ambassador for Child Welfare is in Kenya.

According to Capital FM Kenya, the 57-year old icon with an estimated net worth of over $800 million spent the day visiting Kibera.

Madonna shared some of the moments from her visit today to the slum with Shining Hope for Communities, an organization that links free schools for girls to essential services for communities like clean water, and free health care.

Madonna achieved popularity by pushing the boundaries of lyrical content in mainstream popular music and imagery in her music videos.

She has so far released 13 studio albums, with the first of them being the highly acclaimed self-titled album of 1983.

The latest, Rebel Heart, was released in 2015.

Others are Like a Virgin (1984), Like a Prayer (1989), Erotica (1992), Bedtime Stories (1994), Ray of Light (1998), Music (2000), American Life (2003), Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005), Hard Candy (2008) and MDNA in 2012.

As an actress, she has played roles in a number of films among them Dangerous Game, Evita, Die Another Day and Arthur and the Invisibles.
