Former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi has said his wife Jacqueline Mbabazi is now cancer free.
He made the revelation on Sunday at a thanksgiving ceremony of a Go Forward member and Kanyatorongo sub county LC3 chairman, Kenneth Tumuhamwe, in Kanungu district.
Amama also spoke about Jacqueline’s father who is now 100 years old, saying he [father-in-law] was quite weak.
He said while Uganda has good doctors, it has no medical equipment to treat diseases like cancer.
It should be remembered that the country’s only radiotherapy machine at Mulago cancer institute broke down.
Mbabazi who was the chief guest at Tumuhamwe’s event said his wife Jacqueline was diagnosed with cancer.
“I have been away [in the UK] nursing my sick wife.”
Mbabazi said the lawyer who said in court that he was in London “enjoying life” instead of campaigning “had a mental problem”.
“Because I was in the hospital. I just came from review in UK a few days ago and Jacqueline is now cancer free,” he announced to the joy of his supporters.
