Ajuri county MP Obua loses NRM flag

Denis Hamson Obua, Ajuri county MP in Alebtong District is one of those nursing wounds after being defeated in the NRM primaries.

Obua who is the incumbent, managed only 12,562 votes while his rival and fresh blood, Issac Apenyo Achol, garnered 17,394 votes to take the flag.

Obua earlier served as the Youth MP for northern region from 2006 to 2011.

In 2011, he was elected as MP of Ajuri which was curved out Moroto county in Alebtong district.

Still in Lango region, Daily Monitor reports that Annet Nyakecho Okwenye was defeated by Silvia Akello Opio in the Otuke Woman MP seat.

Adam Makmot Kibwanga was beaten by Julius Achon in the Otuke County race.

MP Geoffrey Omara Adigi lost the Erute North flag to Christine Akello Ogwang who polled 12,497 votes against Omara’s 6,850 votes.

In Lira municipality, incumbent mayor Morris Odung Omara was defeated by his councillor George Mawa.

In Dokolo County, MP Felix Okot Ogong was elected NRM flag bearer for Dokolo County South after defeating Leo Odur.

Sam Engola, the state minister for Housing [16,793 votes], went through after defeating Jimmy Christ Ojom Akeny to become the flag bearer for Erute South [2,036 votes].
