Racheal, a primary two pupil of Gombe Preparatory had been to her stepmother’s place for her holidays where she ended up beaten and later strangled to death in her sleep by her step mother.
A post-mortem report from Gombe hospital showed the little girl had her neck twisted.
When girl was in poor condition the stepmother, Sarah Wanyana called on the girl’s father who rushed her to Gombe hospital where she passed on at arrival.
Sarah Wanyana, believed to be the main suspect in the murder run into hiding after the act and is believed to be in areas around Busega.
Police in Kibibi, Butambala district, got wind of the incident when a concerned resident alerted them that the body of a young girl, Rachael Kagere, 8, was being buried in secrecy by the girl’s father, Tonny Lukenge, and his elder son Godfrey Ssuuna.
