President Yoweri Museveni has met leaders of the association of former NRA ‘kadogos’ led by John Nsereko.
Following their request, the government will buy the association land for farming in Luweero area and also give their Sacco an initial Shs50 million support.
“I am glad that my directive in 1986 that all children who had run to us, the NRA, for refugee and had therefore abandoned school, return to their studies has produced fruit,” the president said.
He noted that many of the kadogos are now professionals.
It was for the efforts of such kadogos (current child soldiers) that Museveni captured power in 1986.
