Ghetto President Bobi Wine has also joined the league of Ugandans who have criticised the recently concluded Uganda Entertainment Awards.
The Award giving event held on 19th August at Serena hotel, has captured a lot of attention following a few things that went wrong at the red carpet event.
Bobi Wine’s point of argument raises from the Deejay who continuously played others musicians’ songs when different artistes were declared winners.
A Nigerian song was played when Bobi Wine was announced the All-round Entertainment personality of the year.
On his Facebook page, he thanked all his supporters and the organiser of the event.
“Congratulations to the firebase members, fans, friends and to myself upon winning the UEA 2016 ALL ROUND ENTERTAINMENT PERSONALITY award.
I am glad to yet again know that am not only viewed as an artist but as a versatile personality.
Big thanks to the organizers and sponsors of the event. On a not so nice note though, I got to know that my name was announced as winner but a Nigerian song was played instead; and it was the same case when many other winners were announced. THAT WAS NOT PATRIOTIC AT ALL. Otherwise, I’d like to congratulate all the winners of the night.”
However, regardless of the technical issues at the event, to a greater extend it sold-out.
Victoria Hall was full to capacity, massive performances from Yemi Alade, and the other artistes like Bafana, Madox Ssematimba, among others.
The Mighty Red carpet, OMG Desire Luzinda, Anita Fabiola, Sheila Gashumba, Denzel among others celebs had cool outfits that made optical nutrition a mandate.
Did I talk about the Emcees? Oh yah, Comedian Salvado and Urban Television’s Malaika Nyanzi gave the best smile with the presentation, dress code, stage management, diction were all on point.
Eddy Kenzo, Zizza Bafana, Rema Namakula, A pass, Sheebah Navio were among the winners.
